Nabanita Dev Sen
Nabanita Dev Sen was born in Calcutta into a Bengali family on 13th January, 1938. Born to poet parents Narendra Dev and Radharani Dev, ‘Nabanita’ was a name given to her by Rabindranath Tagore. She persued comparative literature from Jadavpur University, and then further moved forward with higher academic aims.
She studied in various other renowned universities such as Harvard, Cambridge and Barkeley University. Nabanita Dev Sen further enriched the academic spectrum as a teacher.
Among her huge range of literature creations, ‘ Prothom Protay’ , ‘Ami Anupam’ , ‘Bhalobasar Baranda’ are few of her timeless classics in Bengali literature. Her excellent academic and literary capabilities added some prestigious feathers such as Padma Shri, Sahitya Akademi Award, etc to her crown in the field of literature.
